The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti implements two flagship programmes of GoI - Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission( Grameen) Phase II. The SBM (G) Phase II focuses on the sustainability of ODF status and Solid and Liquid Waste Management to make the villages clean. The programme will be implemented in mission mode from 2020-21 to 2024-25 and will be a novel model of convergence between different verticals of financing and various schemes of GoI and State Governments. Bio-degradable Waste Management is an important component under SLWM and Gobardhan Scheme aims to effectively manage cow dung and other biodegradable waste in rural areas
